As my "Easter in the Shearing Shed" exhibition draws ever closer, I have to wonder whether other artists feel the same things I do about showing the world their art.
What I mean is, to put your art work on display, is to invite comment, comparisons, criticism and judgement. In short, one reveals a piece of one's heart and soul, and often is left feeling inadequate, if not down right discouraged.
I have a "thicker skin" than many, and a fairly healthy ego and confidence in my work, but I still am left wondering at the insensitivity of some people at times.
So...when you are viewing art, keep in mind that artists need a kind (but not patronizing) word or two, and yes, we know the difference.
Enjoy the art and all the differences...and have a great Easter.
